In Herrad from Landsberg’s 12th century illuminated manuscript ‘Hortus Deliciarum’, the Psychomachia illustrationsdepict the battles between the female virtues and vices. In Dustin Klein’s ‘Psychomachia’ these battles are overseen by the game show host Fortuna, deciding who will rise and who will fall by spinning the wheel of fortune.
